Rowing as One 2026 - Frequently AsKed Questions

At St. Christopher’s, stewardship is more than fundraising — it’s an act of faith, gratitude, and belonging. Each pledge represents an oar in the water, helping our parish move forward in worship, service, and love. We know that generosity begins with understanding, so we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions about pledging and giving.

If you don’t see your question here, please reach out to us — we’d love to talk. Your participation, in whatever form it takes, keeps our parish rowing as one.

  • A pledge is your promise of financial support for St. Christopher’s in the coming year. It’s an expression of gratitude and faith — your oar in the water that helps our parish move forward in mission and ministry.

  • Nearly 70% of our annual ministry budget comes directly from pledges. Your commitment helps us plan responsibly — ensuring that our worship, outreach, and formation programs have the support they need. Every oar in the water makes a difference.

  • We invite all parishioners to submit their pledge by Cast-Off Sunday, November 16, 2025. Early pledges help us plan the year ahead and set a faithful course for ministry.

  • You can submit your pledge:

If you need help, contact the Parish Office — we’re happy to assist you.

  • Life changes, and we understand that. A pledge is a statement of intent, not a binding contract. You can increase, decrease, or adjust your pledge at any time by contacting Father Geoff or Patrick Keily, our Comptroller.

  • All pledges are held in strict confidence between the Rector (Father Geoff) and the Comptroller (Patrick Keily). No other members of the Vestry or staff have access to individual giving information.

  • Yes! St. Christopher’s offers flexible online giving options:

    • Debit or credit card (one-time or recurring gifts)
    • Stock and asset donations
    • Cryptocurrency contributions
    • IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions for donors age 70½ and older

Learn more about different giving options here.

  • Every gift matters. Stewardship is not about equal giving — it’s about shared participation. If you can’t afford to pledge much, pledge what you can. And if financial hardship prevents you from pledging even $1, please let us know — we’d rather loan you the dollar than miss your oar in the water. We need everyone rowing together.

  • Yes. If you prefer, you may make an anonymous gift. Simply contact Father Geoff or the Parish Office to make arrangements.

  • A pledge is your commitment to give over the course of the year.

A gift is an immediate contribution. Both are deeply appreciated, but pledges help us plan ahead with confidence and responsibility.

  • Your pledge supports everything we do at St. Christopher’s: worship and music, outreach and care, Christian education for all ages, and the stewardship of our beautiful five-acre campus. Every dollar given fuels the mission and ministry that make this parish flourish.

  • While you may designate special gifts to particular ministries or memorial funds, pledges to the annual operating budget are most vital. They ensure that all areas of parish life — from worship to outreach — receive balanced support.

  • Planned gifts — such as bequests, trusts, or estate gifts — help secure St. Christopher’s future. They’re a way of leaving a lasting legacy. You can learn more about planned giving by clicking here.

  • Yes, please! Each year’s budget and pledge campaign are separate. Even if your pledge remains the same, submitting a new form confirms your continued participation in the life and mission of the parish.

  • Giving is not just about supporting a budget — it’s about deepening our trust in God. Through stewardship, we return a portion of what God has entrusted to us, joining in the work of the Kingdom. It is a spiritual practice that reminds us who we are: beloved, blessed, and called to serve.

  • We’d love to talk with you! Please reach out to Father Geoff, Patrick Keily, Tyler Kristopeit, or any member of the Vestry. Stewardship is about community — and we’re always happy to share how your gifts make a difference.
