Worship / Music
Every Episcopal church will tell you that worship is at the center of their life together. And we do, too. But we have to also tell you that this is not your parents’ church!
From June 12 to September 4, 2016, we worship at 9 AM, with a shortened service which seeks to entice folks to church for worship on Sunday with the knowledge that there will still be plenty of time for them to enjoy their Sunday when they leave church.
From September 11, 2016 we have two worship services. Our 8:00 AM service is quiet, reflective, and meditative. We only use piano for that service and the language is the old, traditional language that you’d recognize from the King James Bible. It’s a gentle service; a quiet service.
Our 10:00 AM worship swings in music and tempo. We use organ, piano, tambourine, finger cymbals, and eclectic music. During the school year our choir supports our hymns and introduces music that allows people to embrace the joy we find in coming together at worship. We sing, we laugh. Hips sway, eyes close, people smile. We say “alleluia” a lot. And we mean it.
