The Rev. Geoffrey F. Ward

Fr. Ward comes to St. Christopher’s most recently from St. Francis in Eagle River, WI. There, he led the congregation to full union status with the convention of The Diocese of Fond du Lac, seeded a needs-based ministry – Caritas of Eagle River, and established significant Ecumenical partner relations. Prior to that, Fr. Ward was priest associate at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Hartford, CT. There he assisted the Dean in most matters of the Cathedral, and was intrinsically involved with their Urban feeding ministries. For the past decade his role was known as a ‘tent-maker priest, (named so after St. Paul, who earned a living as a tent maker) holding a secular position while being a non-stipendiary resource to the church. His executive experience includes management of the Pension Resource Center(sm), a MetLife company responsible for more than 17,000 qualified retirement plans. As subject matter expert on ERISA regulatory matters; he collaborated with MetLife's government affairs group and was an active participant on committees and discussion panels for a number of industry trade organizations; holding professional designations CFP, CLU, ChFC, and AIF. Now fully retired from secular work, he accepted the call as Rector of St. Christopher’s in February 2017. A graduate of Nicolet High School, Fr. Ward also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Viterbo University, Master of Fine Arts Degree from Trinity University, and Master of Theological Studies from Seabury Western. His interests include fishing, boating, swimming, cross country skiing, and is an avid Brewers, Packers, and Bucks fan. He and wife Valerie have six children, three grandchildren, and two Yorkies who think they are children – Banjo and Susanna.

Valerie Ward

Interim Parish Consultant & Administrator

Valerie is currently conducting a fiduciary review of St. Christopher's operations; making recommendations and integrating solutions to improve processes, efficiencies and productivity of the Church, as well as performing the duties of church administrator. Before accepting the call at St. Christopher's, Valerie was the Executive Director of the Campanile Center for the Arts in Minocqua, WI where she was responsible for the administration, budget, marketing, programming, and strategic planning for the non-profit arts center. Prior to that, Valerie was Assistant Vice President for MetLife's Broker/Dealer division with overall responsibility for the marketing, communications and training to 8,000 registered representatives and their support staffs. During her tenure, Valerie established a leadership forum for women employed by the broker/dealer division as well as a networking group for female investment specialists, operations managers, compliance officers and administrative assistants throughout MetLife’s four broker/dealer channels. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. She is an experienced singer, performs improv comedy, and is a “cradle” Episcopalian, which (she jokes) is why Fr. Ward married her.
